Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God
1 Peter 3:18
The truth that God loves us is among the most precious realities to any Christian – so why are non-Christians so often entirely unmoved by it, and how can we overcome that barrier to our personal evangelism? Why is it that his love is not necessarily the best place to start a discussion about the Gospel.
We need to realise that the terms and character of God’s love are not readily accepted by many of our contemporaries because they don’t fit into their narrative of the world. We need to realise that, as we share the Gospel, we are not just imparting facts, we are giving them a new story of themselves – who they are, where they came from, and what they are.
