Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching  – 1 Timothy 4:13

These words underline the importance of hearing the words of Scripture, tonight we tried to recapture some of that experience of receiving, for the very first time, a letter from Paul. We gathered as they might have to read the whole letter in one sitting. For us it required a little preparation, to recall the situation the Thessalonian church found themselves in, and the place from where Paul wrote, but these are words that speak, because they are words from God.
