To know God's love, to show God's love

Two Ways to Live

We’re preparing ourselves for the very practical and immensely important task of actually telling people about Jesus. What we’re telling them is a story, a story with a beginning, an end, and a challenge – that there are only two ways to live.
If we don’t tell them, who will?

Our Choice

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him. (John 3:36) The last step in the Two Ways to Live presentation of the gospel is the one we often avoid, the one it’s easy to leave out – the unavoidable conclusion…

Christ’s Victory

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead (1 Peter 1:3) As we have worked our way through the presentation of the Gospel found in the Two Ways to…

God’s Love

Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God 1 Peter 3:18 The truth that God loves us is among the most precious realities to any Christian – so why are non-Christians so often entirely unmoved by it, and how can we overcome that barrier to our personal…

Suffering

Suffering is a question that often comes up when we begin to speak about the justice of God. To understand how best to respond to suffering, we need to come to terms with the injustice of the world around us, the randomness of its suffering, the meaninglessness that it seems to impose. This evening we…

God’s Justice

The third step of the Two Ways to Live summary of the gospel requires us to talk about God’s justice. It’s not enough to simply become aware of our own sin, we need to know that sin has a response from God’s character, he cannot overlook it. It’s something we actually know instinctively, we know…

How to talk about sin

As we share the gospel of Jesus Christ it is inevitable, it is necessary, to come to the subject of sin. But how do we speak about something so emotive. We look for guidance from Paul in Romans 3, and remember that, when it comes to sin, We are equal It is universal The problem is…

God Rejected

We come to the second step in the story we need to tell people when they ask us what our faith is all about. It begins by telling them about the God who rules, who made us, who gave us everything. But then we need to tell them that they, like everyone else, has rejected…

Who needs a Ruler?

We continue to work through the simple presentation of the gospel found in the Two Ways to Live leaflet – you can find the presentation here. This evening we continue to reflect on the first step, the beginning of the story, God is the loving ruler of the world He made the world He made…

God Ruling

The starting point of the good news begins by telling where we all begin: God is the loving ruler of the world He made the world He made us rulers of the world under him You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honour and power, for you created all things, and by…
