To know God's love, to show God's love

Welcome to our LifeGroups in Carryduff Baptist Church. LifeGroups are smaller gatherings of our church that take place in the homes of their leaders and members where we can get to know one another, study the Bible with one another, and pray for and with one another.

Each group typically has about 6-10 members, and each has a designated leader who is a member of the church. It’s not necessary to be a member of our church to join one of our LifeGroups although we’d like you to be coming along to our meetings.

over the last few years we have been studying the Book of Acts and using study guides by R. Albert Mohler, the first of which is called Acts 1-12: The Church is Born

The threefold purpose of fellowship, Bible study and prayer is important to us because the LifeGroups are intended to be an opportunity to grow in Christ, to disciple others, and be discipled ourselves. They are intended to help people make the leap from simply attending church, to being the church.

Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ

Act 5:42

LifeGroups are intended to cultivate fellowship rather than merely developing friendship. Fellowship is being knit together in the common cause of the gospel and Christ’s Church. Therefore a LifeGroup is not a closed circle of friends looking inward at their own concerns, but an open and outward-looking group of disciples caring for one another and equipping one another to go out and serve Christ.

The material used in Bible discussion is provided by the elders and every group works through the same material at roughly the same speed. This means that members of one group can discuss their own reflections on the material with all the other groups in the church.

LifeGroups have a finite lifespan so that other groups can be formed with different combinations of people to serve with, and learn from.  If you are interested in joining a Lifegroup please contact one of the elders.
